Want to pursue YouTube, IGTV is now on display on Instagram



Instagram is increasingly keen to suppress IGTV penetration, which is still less prominent than Instagram stories. The latest step, Instagram will bring up footage of IGTV videos in the feed.

As of June 2018, Instagram daily Stories reached 400 million users, double that of Snapchat's story features. But not so with IGTV.

In fact, the IGTV feature is predicted to rival YouTube. Plus, IGTV which has a duration of one hour, is standalone or independent. New users can find it by tapping the icon located next to the direct message icon.

Now, Instagram starts promoting IGTV content in a more "visible" way. IGTV video footage will appear in Instragram feeds with a duration of one minute. Users can more easily find IGTV content when surfing on Instagram feeds.

If the user wants to continue watching IGTV videos, just tap the video, then press the IGTV icon on the bottom left hand side of the screen. After the video is finished, the user will automatically return to the Instagram feed.

 If you want to find other IGTV videos, swipe the screen up, then some video recommendations will appear on the bottom row. Swipe left to find the IGTV video you want to watch.

From the official statement received on Monday (02/11/2019), with this update, IGTV creators were also able to share IGTV video footage for one minute on their personal profile after they uploaded it.

Instagram attempts to familiarize IGTV have also been made by adding several new features, since it was released in June 2018. Some of these features include exploring, sharing IGTV videos to Stories, storing IGTV videos, and entering IGTV videos to the website.

The welcome of Instagram users on IGTV is not as vibrant as Instagram stories. Chances are, there are still many people choosing YouTube as a video sharing platform with a longer duration than IGTV. Moreover, Instagram still enriches the stories, which makes users more free to express their creativity in videos with short duration.
