Intel recruits new CFO from Qualcomm

Intel announced the appointment of George Davis as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Intel Corporation. Previously, Davis was the CFO of competitor chipset company Intel, Qualcomm. Even so, it is not explained why Intel recruited Qualcomm's CFO to be the current CFO of Intel. However, the position of the Intel CFO itself was officially held by Davis as of April 3 yesterday. Before Davis entered, the temporary CFO position was filled by Robert Swan, Intel CEO and former Intel CFO for 7 months, from June 2018 to January 2019. As a CFO, Davis will report Intel's finances to Swan directly while overseeing Intel's finances globally. This financial supervision covers the financial flow, accounting and financial reporting on a regular basis, taxes, treasury, internal audit, and relations with investors.

In addition to finance, he will also oversee the Intel IT office based in Santa Clara, California, USA. "I am very happy to join Intel," Davis said in a written statement on the Intel website. "I (also) can't wait to play a role and contribute to the transformation of this company," he added. Regarding Davis' duty as CFO, boss Intel believes that the former Qualcomm CFO was able to open up big opportunities to make Intel a giant company in the data-based technology industry.

"Davis is a great addition to our core team, and will help Intel in carrying out its strategy in pursuing business opportunities in the data-based technology industry," Swan said in the same statement. Before entering Intel, as summarized by KompasTekno from IntelNewsroom on Saturday (04/06/2019), the 61-year-old man had held the position of Executive Vice President and CFO of Qualcomm since March 2013. At Qualcomm, he was tasked with overseeing the finances of brand makers of chipsets. Snapdragon is globally responsible for establishing relationships between companies with investors and the government.
